Where do you want to go in life? My desire is to go far, running with endurance and stamina. With this in mind, I must consider the preparation, the cost, the attitudes, the destination and travel companions that will either impede, impact, or impair my travel.
Whenever I travel, I make a list of the items that I plan to take with me and the things that I don’t want to forget to do before I leave. I intentionally plan to pack light because the more weight that I carry in my bags, the slower I am able to move. I am also weighted down and find it harder to move. And it more costly. The same is true in my life’s journey. If I want to go far, my baggage must be light. I cannot carry people and their issues, negativity, unforgiveness, or people who want to accompany me while kicking and screaming all the way. I will prepare educationally, spiritually, emotionally, and physically to be able to make the long journey through life.
Trips can be very expensive, so I usually surf the net to find the cheapest rates while still enjoying the finest hotels, gourmet meals, and sights. While travelling through life, I can enjoy the journey with the least cost to my emotions, finances, and spirit by making sure that I surf the net of the Holy Spirit, the experiences of those who have been where I’m trying to go, and wise counsel. Sites like Travelocity and Priceline save me more, stress, and worry. The trip through life can be less expensive when you plan to cut the costs.
When I travel, I have a spirit of adventure. I want to meet new people. I want to eat good food. I want to stay as long as possible. I want to have fun. I have the same attitude about my journey through life. God has so much beauty for us to see. There are interesting, positive people who are on the same journey who have goals and interests that are similar to mine. There are people who are further along who can show me the way to go, paths to avoid and who can expose me to things that I have not experienced. There are good books to read. There is more revelation in the Bible that I have not heard or seen. I want to feast at the banquet table of my destiny and purpose with an attitude of gratitude and expectation.
I’ve been on cruises. I’ve been to tropical islands. I’ve been to other countries. I want to travel to Europe. I want to travel to Africa. There are so many places to go and to see. But, when it’s all said and done, my ultimate goal is Heaven. So, as I travel on my life’s journey, I must use each destination as a mile traveled toward my ultimate destination, using them as opportunities to get others to join me on the journey. I am an ambassador of Christ and heaven. Therefore, my travel partners cannot impede, impair. Or negatively impact my travel. If you want to go where I’m going, pack light and let’s go!!!
